In this episode of $30k questions, a podcast miniseries aimed to help you explore and implement money-making questions, I talk about the idea of ambient stress and how entrepreneurs can get started on understanding themselves and their stress. There are lots of specific things that can stress us out but today, I want to ask you one main question: what processes, if fixed, would lower our ambient stress the most? 

Let’s look at some ways we can identify ambient stress and start making conscious choices in our everyday lives:

  • What is ambient stress? Ambient stress is the ‘total stress.’ It’s the emotional and psychological baggage we carry with us every day. 
  • There is nothing bad about ambient stress—it’s just a part of existing in the day-to-day. 
  • Some of this stress is good and intentional. 
  • Only you can choose to examine additional stressors in your life and make decisions about how to address them.
  • Remember: not choosing is still choosing something.
