I revisit my foundation exercise, the One Year From Now Vision, as I look forward to my newest adventure in group coaching, One Year From Now: The Residency. Unpack the process of this vision yourself with helpful tips and insights from me guaranteed to help you get the most out of the next year in your business.

In this episode, I cover:

  • Sharing stories of client transformation through my foundational exercise
  • Revealing more about my upcoming group coaching project
  • Asking the right questions and getting the honest answers out of yourself
  • Navigating your own One Year From Now journey with helpful advice from me
  • Learning to be curious and to think boldly in your upcoming year

Color in the world around you

When it comes to the tips you need to get through the One Year from Now exercise effectively and transformatively, I want you to consider two ideas. The first is that you need to be detailed and color in the world around you. When you think about your life one year from now, paint the picture you might see. Engage your 5 senses and get creative. The second is that you have to be bold. Don’t lie about what you want, say it with pride and confidence.

“You can always tell how well this exercise is going to go based on how well you color in your world at this point.

Ask the in-depth questions and get curious

In my tiny transformations section of this episode, I dive into the questions you should be asking yourself when you come up with your One Year From Now vision. These questions include: What does your work look like one year from now? Where are the gaps between your current self and your future vision? How are you committing time and/or resources to change? Being as specific and curious as possible allows for the most well-rounded plan to achieve your vision.

“We are always creating and always becoming new versions of ourselves.”

Work it backwards, then dig in

When it comes to imagining the future, the clients I work with have very little practice in practical goal setting. The One Year From Now exercise aims to shorten the distance of a goal for your business, while still allowing time for dreams and growth. Work backwards from where you are in your business and consider how you got here. When it comes to moving forward, dig in deep to the thoughts and feelings you have about where you are now and where you want to be.

“Be wary of all the places where you are trying to massage goals just because you think it should fit.”

Coming next week: An episode centered around my newest coaching project, OYFN: The Residency, which you can get a first look at here.
