In this Note to Self, Nicola and I encourage entrepreneurs to seek collaborative partnership opportunities with other businesses in their industry and to understand their value as agile, skilful individuals with experience taking risks.
In this mini-lesson, we cover:
- Entrepreneurs are always needed and will always be needed
- Making your own list of companies that can be partners instead of competitors
“The experimentation that an entrepreneur brings to a problem allows them to be beneficial to the whole ecosystem.” – Nicola
Entrepreneurs are often an underutilized resource for a lot of individuals, organizations, and businesses looking to take risks, create new ideas, and make highly influential decisions. We are a trained group of educated people that are used to doing things on our own. Partnerships can deeply benefit from our skill sets and our motivation, especially when we’re willing to take a chance and fulfil a niche for them in our community.
“We literally are practiced at making something out of nothing. If that’s not magic or a superpower, I don’t know what is.” – Hailey
The space to collaborate and partner with these businesses already exists for you. There is always and will always be room for improvement and innovation, and entrepreneurs bring those two elements to businesses in droves. With that in mind, don’t be afraid to show up for partnerships, even if these groups can be considered competitors. A collaboration between like-minded individuals, especially entrepreneurs, and businesses will always be invaluable.
